CONCERNING:
MADAGASCAR
Exploitation
and management of reptiles and amphibians of Madagascar
1. Madagascar has put in place an
experimental program for the management and exploitation of its populations of
reptiles and amphibians.
2. Under this program, only four species of
Chamaeleo and four species of Phelsuma may be traded. The export
quotas for these species were published in Notification to the Parties No. 1999/47
of 1 July 1999.
3. Only three exporters will be authorized
to trade in these species. These companies are:
Société
RAJAOFERSON PETFARM;
Société REPTEL; and
Centre SOAFIAVY.
4. The experimental program started in June
1999.
